3. Nausea
Nausea experienced with rhinorrhea can be caused by a number of different things. The spinal fluid may run down the back of the throat and into the stomach. This can cause the stomach to become upset and even trigger a gag reflex that can lead to nausea.
Some people actually vomit as a result of the drainage. The Nausea can also be caused by infection and other symptoms. People who experience a severe headache may also have nausea from the pain. Nausea may be treated with medication but can return until the infection is removed from the body and the spinal fluid is no longer draining into the stomach. In some cases, this symptom can be aggravated by certain smells, foods, and flavors.
The drainage may lead to coughing, which can also lead to regurgitation. Nausea is not a sign of Rhinorrhea on its own but is often accompanied by other symptoms.
