4. Pressure on our muscle
This can happen at the same time as the item prior, holding a bad position for a prolonged period of time. When both happen at the same time, their effects can add up to each other and make the cramp worse and more difficult to relieve. This is a common cause of leg cramps because we constantly lean our weight on our legs.
For example, when we sit, or kneel with our knees completely bent, or lean on one leg, we are applying pressure on our legs by resting the weight of our body, which can be quite significative depending on our contexture. Applying pressure to any part of our body can interfere in the blood supply, because we are compressing our veins and arteries, therefore the blood cannot flow freely to our muscles and other tissues. Poor irrigation can cause aching and muscle cramps.
