2. Pain that Keeps Increasing around Infected Area
When you get a cut or abrasion and it gets infected with the bacteria that cause necrotizing fasciitis, there is going to be a great deal of pain. This is actually a good thing because it is one of the early warning signs and it is a warning sign that is unique enough to give you a clue that you have necrotizing fasciitis and not something else the pain you are going to feel will be markedly different than if you had just cut yourself.
Most people with a small cut on their hands feel the pain for a couple of hours afterward at the most. Once the cut is covered up with a Band-Aid, you go about your day and do not think of it any longer unless you irritate it somehow. But with necrotizing fasciitis, the bacteria gets in there and begins destroying tissue which causes severe pain on levels that you would not normally feel.
