5. Bladder control exercises
Another way that a person can try and address their polyuria at home and without needing to visit a doctor is by practicing bladder control exercises. The best way to do this is by holding in the urine for longer and longer periods of time throughout the day. This can be a fine balancing act to play and a tightrope to walk through, as no one wants to get caught short and end up having an accident.
For this reason, it’s best to practice this type of bladder control exercise when you’re at home or in close proximity to the toilet. It’s also worth remembering that holding your urine in for too long can increase the likelihood of someone developing a urinary tract infection, and so if you are prone to this type of infection, it’s probably a good idea to stick to juices and pastes. Simply tightening and loosening the bladder and pelvic muscles can help too.
