3. Coughing
Pharyngitis causes a range of different symptoms that includes inflammation of the nose and throat, and these themselves lead to other accompanying symptoms such as sneezing. Coughing is another one of the most common symptoms that occurs during a bout of pharyngitis, and it tends to stick around for as long as the infection is present. This can be as long as seven days, but might be a little longer for some people – and shorter for others – depending on the type of infection causing it and the strength of their immune system.
With conditions like flu and pharyngitis, a cough is likely to start off as a smaller symptom, seem to “peak” in intensity somewhere in the middle and then improve as the rest of the symptoms do. If the symptoms recur even after the initial infection has been treated, then it could either be chronic pharyngitis or another condition.
