4. Throat Inflammation
Pharyngitis is a common health condition that affects millions of people at least once in their lives, and it’s usually a condition experienced as a sore throat – and this is usually one of the first symptoms people will experience, and one of the symptoms that will continue for as long as the infection is present. Because of the fact that pharyngitis is an infection of the throat, throat inflammation is very common.
Inflammation of the throat usually causes pain, redness, and swelling of the throat for at least three to five days, sometimes longer. Medicated throat lozenges and sprays can usually bring some relief to this symptom, and are purchased over-the-counter.
If the symptom continues or recurs after the initial infection has been properly treated with a course of antibiotics and symptomatic treatments, then it’s either a chronic case of pharyngitis or another condition that’s causing inflammation of the throat.
