3. Mixing up the order of words can happen when you have dysphasia.
Even though, they mix up their words, try not to correct them so quickly because this will anger them. If you try to correct the person, be compassionate and not aggressive about it. The person is already frustrated that they can’t communicate properly. The person that they are talking to may understand what he or she is saying even though the words are mixed up.
In speech therapy, the therapist will help the person to arrange their words so that the people that they are talking to will understand them. At times, when the person is speaking you won’t be able to understand him or her.
The best you can do is just nod your head to be respectful of the person. You can even ask the person to repeat what he or she is saying. Maybe the second time around, you will understand what they are saying.
