It doesn’t have to be cold. Avoid adding hot sauce or any spicy seasonings on your food. Even though, you’re letting the food cool a bit, adding spicy ingredients will have the same effect.
Most people believe if they drink water after eating hot foods, it will be okay, but it can make it worse. Your throat will remain hot for a while. The hot feeling in your throat will eventually go away, but the next time you eat, you need to be more careful. Just because the hot feeling went away doesn’t mean it can’t happen again.
