5. Hearing problems
There are some cases in which the schwannoma might develop on the nerve that connects your eye to your brain. In such an instance, you’ll often develop hearing problems. The severity of these hearing problems generally start out small but become more severe as your schwannoma grows in size.
There are some people who are able to halt the progression of their hearing problems at the early stage and eventually recover from them, but these are mostly patients who get an early diagnosis for their schwannoma and treat it promptly. If you want to protect your ears and prevent long-term hearing loss then treating the schwannoma as soon as you notice such symptoms is imperative. Furthermore, if you notice this symptom, it means that the schwannoma is dangerously close to your brain.
