4. Burning pain
If you feel burning pain anywhere on your body then it may be a symptom of schwannoma. As we mentioned above, the nerves are under constant pressure from your schwannoma once it reaches a certain size. This pressure gradually damages and wears away at the surrounding nerves. As this damage occurs, you’ll likely experience a burning sensation that’s consistent with neuropathy — nerve damage. This is usually a symptom in later-stage schwannomas due to the fact that it’s caused by actual nerve damage.
If you notice this symptom then that means you’re way overdue for treatment and should admit yourself to the ER immediately before further nerve damage occurs. If you have a metabolic condition like diabetes then the nerve damage could happen at an accelerated pace. In such a scenario, getting prompt treatment by a medical professional is the best way to slow the damage and even prevent it eventually. You shouldn’t postpone treatment, especially if you feel burning pains, as this symptom is a big red flag that your condition is worsening.
