Eating foods that contain a high amount of sugar should also be avoided if you have been diagnosed with CRPS. Multiple studies have confirmed that high levels of sugar can increase inflammation in the body; in fact, it can lead to chronic inflammation.
Since the pain that is associated with CRPS is directly related to inflammation that occurs as a result of the immune system’s response to believing that it is protecting the body from foreign invaders, eating high levels of sugar can further complicate the symptoms of complex regional pain syndrome.
In addition to increasing pain, the chronic inflammation that has been linked to eating high amounts of sugar can also lead to other severe health problems, such as diabetes, heart disease, allergies, and even certain types of cancer. Therefore, anything foods that contain high levels of sugar should be avoided if you suffer from CPRS.
