4. Supports Healing
Back braces are regularly prescribed after recent back, spinal or muscle injuries – and can also be prescribed for use years after an injury to help support the back and muscles when an injury flares up. If you experience any type of back pain that recurs or becomes chronic and you’ve recently injured your back (even if you aren’t aware of it), then you should see your doctor for the proper tests and scans to establish what should be done next.
Back braces are great for supporting healing if you’ve been through a recent injury – they can help to ensure that the muscles have the time to heal and that there isn’t any further risk of back or spinal injury.
See your doctor if you aren’t sure which brace would be best for your individual injury – sometimes matching up the wrong brace or wearing it too tightly (or too often) can be just as bad for your back as not wearing it at all.
