4. Eye aches
Beyond a burning sensation, you might also suffer from eye aches if you’re reading or looking at other close objects. If you notice these eye aches occurring even when you’re looking at something far away then you’re likely dealing with an ocular condition not related to farsightedness. That being said, if only closeup objects cause eye aches then it may, in fact, be a symptom of hyperopia.
These eye aches can vary in intensity from one patient to the next, but they generally get more severe over time especially if the patient continues to read despite feeling the eye ache. If you notice an eye ache then give your eyes a break and see if it dissipates. Patients who suffer from farsightedness often report that closing their eyes for a few minutes and/or refraining from reading makes these eye aches go away.
