4. Scoliosis
Scoliosis is better known as a curvature of the spine, and it’s one of the most common symptoms that occur in almost all cases of Noonan Syndrome. Usually, this symptom isn’t noticed at birth, but might have a later onset and only start setting in through childhood, adolescence or even adulthood.
A curvature of the spine can usually be noticed through back pain first, through a change in the manner of walking or through direct measurement of the spine – and all three will require a doctor’s appointment to establish the severity of the condition.
Tests like an x-ray and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) are exceptionally useful in monitoring the condition, and regular follow-ups are needed to assess how (and if) the condition ever progresses. Usually, scoliosis should be treated as an entirely separate condition with its own individual treatment and isn’t just treated as a symptom of something else.
