3. Eye Infection
Patients who are dealing with the onset of entropion may experience the condition due to infection. Pinkeye is a common bacterial or viral infection of the eye, typically occurring in children who spread it to adults in the household. The adults then go on and infect other people in the community. Some people are prone to developing pink eye frequently due to a weak immune system.
Trachoma is another form of bacterial infection caused by the bacterium Chlamydia trachomatis. Patients who are dealing with this condition find that they develop a roughening on the inside of the eyelids. As a result of the infection, the patient experiences eye pain, and a breakdown in the cornea lens. This infection is severe and may result in eventual blindness if the patient does not seek treatment.
Both of these diseases are responsible for the onset of entropion in the infected individual. Fortunately, both of these diseases are curable, and patience and seek immediate treatment to avoid the advancement of the condition into entropion.
