3. Keep Them Trimmed
You may also be able to prevent nail biting bites from just keeping your nails trimmed. If your nails are trimmed and there is no place for your teeth the bite, then it is going to be very hard for you to do so.
The best way to do this is by checking your nails regularly and trimming them with a pair of nail trimmers whenever they start to grow out a little bit. If you ignore them and let them grow out too far, then you’re going to be tempted to bite them and that’s what you are trying to avoid.
Most health experts will tell you to trim your nails by cutting straight across the nail, but this does leave the sides for biting. So, until you can break the habit, you may want to trim the sides down too. In addition, always keep your nails clean so that even if you do bite them you are at least not going to get the germs that are inside your nail bed.
