4. Bed rest
Bed rest is used to treat various ailments including influenza and the common cold. That being said, there are some rare cases in which it can actually cause the development of prickly heat rashes. When you’re lying down in a bed for hours on end, wrapped in blankets, you’ll sweat a lot. All this heat and sweat will make you a prime target for prickly heat rashes.
Still, you can’t exactly forego bed rest as it’s an essential part of treating many ailments. Fortunately, there is a middle ground to this issue. All you need to do is ensure that your body is getting enough air while you’re on bed rest. This can be done by reducing the number of blankets that you use while on bed rest. You should also check your skin regularly to see if there are any signs of a rash so that you can nip it at the bud.
