4. Machine Workouts
If you do have the option of going to a gym and working with machines, you can absolutely do so even when suffering from RLS. However, you should avoid the weight machines, since these tend to stress your legs more than the recommended amount. Hence, steer clear of the treadmills, leg presses, and even the elliptical trainers.
Fortunately, not all machines are off-limits. You should look into those machines that shape and tone your abdomen, shoulder, or arms instead of working on your legs. The result would be the same injection of endorphins that comes from exercise.
The right machines exercise can hence keep your brain well-stocked on happy chemicals. These would include chest presses, biceps curl machines, and abdominal crunch machines. If you have a mild or moderate RLS, one machine in one workout is allowable. Using more than this could intensify your symptoms further. So, you have to be careful with that.
