5. Blood in Vaginal Discharge
is a symptom that women will experience when they have trichomoniasis. It may go unnoticed with a woman that has trichomoniasis when she is still having her monthly period. The only way she may start to wonder when the blood doesn’t go away after a length of time.
For example, if her period lasts for four days, but if she doesn’t know she has trichomoniasis, the blood will linger longer. Symptoms sometimes go away and then come back. When she notices blood, she may also think she has a urinary tract infection, which is a common symptom.
If she believes she has a urinary tract infection, she may think it will go away on its own by drinking more water. As stated before, the symptoms may go away, but trichomoniasis left untreated the symptoms could reappear. If she already had her period for that month and she’s bleeding again, that should be a red flag.
