2. Canned meats
Are another type of food that should be avoided when dealing with nephrotic syndrome because they are loaded with fat and high in sodium. They may be convenient, especially when a person is running low on time and need a quick snack. They are cheap but are bad for someone with nephrotic syndrome.
Since canned meats are high in sodium, they will have a negative effect on a person’s body. With nephrotic syndrome, a person is likely to gain weight, retain water, and sodium. The kidneys are already damaged, so eating canned meats may cause more damage. That’s extra waste and water that glomeruli can’t do anything with.
It’ll just keep on piling up in the blood, which will raise the blood pressure and hurt the kidneys. If a person with nephrotic syndrome wants any meat, it’s best to stick with lean meats, such as poultry, shellfish, and fish.
