2. Vomiting
Vomiting and nausea are very common symptoms that are seen in cases of HELLP Syndrome, and almost all women who are diagnosed with the condition (which can be just under 1% of total pregnancies that are seen in the emergency room every year) will develop this symptom during their pregnancy. This happens mostly because of the fact that HELLP Syndrome can attack the body’s immune system, and nausea is often the body’s first response to being attacked from all fronts.
It’s a good thing to know that nausea and vomiting can often be treated symptomatically, usually just with simple over-the-counter medication. You should also know that experiencing nausea as part of your pregnancy (especially in the earlier phases) are considered normal – don’t panic if you experience nausea, but have it further examined as a symptom of something if you experience it together with any others that can be called concerning.
