5. Swelling of Glands
Glandular swelling is one of the first signs that your body is trying to process toxins or get rid of the impending infection, and it could be one of the first signs of a rubella infection if you experience it together with any of the other characteristic symptoms that have been mentioned in this article. It can be a very painful and uncomfortable symptom, and the swelling can occur in any of the glands throughout the body – including the salivary glands, the glands under the arms, in the groin or in the neck.
Never press, prod or massage swollen glands; sometimes taking anti-inflammatory medication can help to reduce associated glandular swelling, and usually, the swelling will go away together with the rest of the symptoms. If symptoms continue after this for an extended period of time, make an appointment with your doctor so that it can be diagnosed and treated properly whether it’s due to rubella or not.
