6. Talcum powder
Talcum powder is another thing that you likely have lying around your house that could actually take care of the prickly heat rash rather quickly. Prickly heat rashes are caused by two things: heat and sweat. Talcum powder reduces your sweat by absorbing any perspiration on the skin. Applying a coating of the talcum powder to the site of the prickly heat rash can reduce the sweat around that area, relieving the irritation.
You can also use talcum powder as a preventative measure. If you coat high-risk areas — regions of your body that tend to sweat a lot — in talcum powder then you’ll keep them dry and reduce the risk of a prickly heat rash forming. Rather than wiping it off afterward, leave the talcum powder on your skin as if it was antiperspirant deodorant powder. Try to use hypoallergenic varieties of talcum powder.
