4. Garlic
Garlic has traditionally been prized for its many health benefits, including fighting infections, lowering cholesterol and aiding the cardiovascular system. In addition, garlic contains properties that can strengthen the stomach lining.
Since gastritis attacks the stomach lining, keeping this layer strong is one way to prevent the illness and ease its symptoms. Crushing and eating raw garlic is one way to help support your stomach. In addition, it contains sulfur which has been shown to improve gut health. Not everyone reacts well to garlic, however, and it can cause gas and bloat among people who are not used to it.
If this is the case, rather than eating it raw, take garlic supplements that prevent some of the side effects of raw garlic. You can use garlic in cooking, but once it is heated up, it loses some of the effectiveness of raw garlic.
