3. Anxiety
Stress and anxiety go hand-in-hand. The stress response triggers the “fight or flight” response, which is directly related to anxiety. Your brain is trying to make sense of the issues that are occurring, and your body reacts by making you quick to assume the worst possible scenario in order to quickly react.
While this may be helpful on occasions when there really are dangers that have to be dealt with, if you are under stress for prolonged periods of time, it could lead to chronic, social or generalized anxiety, which a mental health disorder that can become debilitating.
